What is Botox® Cosmetics?
The Botox® that you may recognize is most famously known as a “wrinkle-relaxer” for treating facial expression lines. While it is a popular aesthetic treatment, Botox® actually originated as a treatment for eye spasms. Its cosmetic and medical applications continue to evolve and grow.
How does Botox® treat wrinkles?
When in our qualified providers’ hands, Botox® is injected into “target” muscles. These muscles contribute to squinting, frowning, and other movements responsible for treatable expression lines. In young skin, these lines only appear when squinting, frowning, etc. As the skin loses its elasticity over time, such “dynamic” lines become “static” ones. The lines appear on the face even when it is at rest. As a neuromodulator or neurotoxin, Botox® relaxes the muscles. When the treated muscle cannot contract, it does not stretch the skin and contribute to the development of creases.
Can Botox® treat all expression lines?

What is Botox® treatment like?

Injections are efficient and are often completed in around 30 minutes. The injections are also very well tolerated, because they are applied quickly with a thin, sterile needle. The number of treatments required and the body’s response to Botox® vary considerably from person to person. On average, the results from Botox® last between three and four months.
