When should I see you about my pain?
Of course, you should contact our office in Olive Branch, Mississippi, any time you are concerned about changes in how you feel. You should also contact us if you are due for your annual “physical” or visit. In general, though, pain is trying to tell you something. It’s a “red flag” from your nervous system that some part of your body isn’t functioning as it should be. So, it should be checked out to determine what might be to blame for your symptoms.
When is pain considered to be “chronic”?
Pain is largely categorized as either “chronic” or “acute.” Acute pain starts suddenly and goes away after the source of the pain has been treated. Pain is described as “chronic” if it lasts for at least three months or within the timeframe that your body should have healed. While treatment may not eliminate the pain, it can help with the symptoms affecting your daily life.
